This trail exploring the Steinhausen forest, with its magical charm, runs under the shades of trees all the way offering cool conditions in the summer and protection during the winter. There is a reason why so many people decide to run in Steinhausen forest. It is like a little bit of wilderness hidden just around the corner, accessible to anyone. The possibilities are endless and you can go anywhere within the forest. We aim to capture the best of the forest with this trail. This trail is following well-maintained gravel roads. There are various options to start this trail, depending on where you are coming from, but if you approach from Blickendorn you need to climb to the start point, which is a perfect warm-up.

The trail starts at the junction before the forest Google Maps. Follow Oberbrüglenweg towards the north going on level for about 300m and then turn left following the edge of the forest.

The road will lead you through an open valley before entering the forest. You reach a crossing where take an uphill on the right going for 1200 meters before dropping back to the same road. (you can skip this loop if not up for the climb) Back at the junction turning right towards the lake, shortly you reach the romantic pond in the middle of the trees. Continue to the other side of the lake and take the path uphill. After a short climb, turn towards the East and follow the road, passing the Wildhutte and carry on on the narrow path. Follow the Vitaparcour signs, on the single trail until you reach the main road. As you exit the forest you can marvel at the wonderful view of Lake Zug and the mountains before you are back to the start point.
