08. Sijentalwald - Buonas

  • 7.1km
  • 180m

This is a varied trail exploring Sijentalwald and the lakeside by Buonas, connected with the lush green meadows. The trail can be started either at Buonas or at Sijentalwald. We explore the trail here starting from Sijentalwald. The run starts with a short uphill on a wide gravel road inside Sijentalwald alongside a small stream. This forest is a hidden gem, a calm place that is rich with wildlife. Follow the Vitaprcours signs and the hiking path to cross the motorway and carry on towards the lake. After crossing the railways it is a steady downhill towards the lake through the streets of Buonas. Once at the lakeside follow the shore on the right-hand side. The view span across the horizon from Cham to Oberwill and the Zugerberg towards the North. Turning back towards the forest, the pastures with cows dominate the landscape and the sound of the bells fill the air.

As you near the top the view opens up again towards the lake again. Out of the forest, the Alps reveal themselves on the left for a short time. Continue on the hiking path through the pastures and you are shortly back to the forest to explore the other side following the parkour before reaching the starting point.
