10. Schönegg - Oberwil Wald
- 9.02km
- 295m
This trail starts violently from the start, it goes straight up steeply on a wide gravel road Schonegg Station. Most of the vertical meters are made in the first few kilometres. Once the climb is over, it goes along the mountainside crossing a small wooden bridge over the Zugerbergbahn. This bridge offers the perfect view of Zug and the lake. After the bridge, the path becomes narrower and technically, but with a lot of flow, towards Oberwil. It is one of the most beautiful trails on the Zugerberg. You can catch the view over the lake, in between the trees.
Back on the main road, you have to overcome a few more meters in altitude before you start the descent towards Schönegg. Passing the typical barbecue areas and shelters.
Past an imposing waterfall and a bench with a view of the City, you fly back to the starting point. This lap is ideal for a run before sunset, as the whole slope is illuminated golden by the evening sun.
